Puerto Vallarta is one of the worlds famous vacation spots, with miles of beautiful
beaches, jungles, friendly people, and great food. Puerto Vallarta has 300 sunny days a year with an average day time temperature
in February of 84, the average nightly low is 72. Puerto Vallarta is situated on the same parallel as the Hawaiian Islands, thus the
similarity in tropical climate. Puerto Vallarta has an international airport with flights by most major US airlines from many
cities. I've driven almost all the way from one end of the Banderas Bay to the other, and there's a lot of incredible places to see and shoot. Just south of Puerto Vallarta, you can see what's left of a helicopter used in the Terminator, and have lunch and/or cocktails under a thatched roof over-looking a rocky gorge with a stream. You can even swim there if you like, and dive off rocks into the water below. And there's a bullfight in Puerto Vallarta every Wednesday. |
| There's all kinds of water sports as you might expect: swimming,
diving, surfing, windsurfing, sailing, water skiing, para-sailing, jet skiing, etc . But you can also go horse-back riding through
the jungle to a waterfall, perfect for shooting. In Puerto Vallarta itself there's a lovely walk-way along the ocean, lined with
shops, restaurants, and even a Hard Rock Cafe. A shopper's paradise, with everything from souvenirs and trinkets to beautiful
hand-crafted silver. There's a few photo labs in town for those of you who can't wait until you get home. And there are internet cafes all over the city. One even did some scanning for me when I was there last. There are ATM machines in Puerto Vallarta that will take American cards, but not all do. Credit cards are accepted at all but the smaller shops. Find out more about Puerto Vallarta here. |
